I agree with the author of the blog. We have two Kuvasz that are extremely headstrong and determined . We have worked extensively with a trainer and these dogs settle after 2 years (along with training). I have the Don't shoot the dog book along with many others. These dogs need to have a strong owner. I think understanding dog language and behavior helps. Our dogs sit amongst the chickens, ducks, goats easily now. They are very protective . We have had a heck of a time stopping them from running and barking at cars going by our country road. I have had to really chase her down and "no" her back. I have needed to be very consistant on this and it takes a LOT of energy and time.
We love our dogs
Clicker training may work for tricks , but not for running, not stopping upon request.

Ugh! I totally disagree and would not ever want to be reincarnated as your dog!

Kuvasz dogs are easily trained. They are not stubborn at all. You do need to know the principles of reinforcement. I suggest the classic book Don't Shoot the Dog, which is about operant conditioning.

I had kuvasz dogs for about 20 years and they are lovely.I rarely did any formal training and my dogs were outstanding.
