Your favorite breed on your number plate!

Big Dog | April 11th, 2010

Kuvasz are often described as an intelligent and a very funny dog. A clownish sense of humor is the most distinct characteristic of this breed that can last throughout its adolescence until its adulthood. They are intensely loyal yet patient pets who seek and appreciate attention, but can sometimes be aloof especially with strangers. This breed needs to be trained and to be taught how to socialize to lessen its very aloof nature and learn to get along with family friends.

Kuvasz are very good with kids and so it is nice to save memories of them playing and goofing around with the children in the family. You can also show your love and affection for your pet by framing your license plate in a Black Plastic I Love My Kuvasz Plastic Frame. This frame is made with black plastic with white lettering and can fit most US and Canadian License Plates.

Are Kuvasz easily trained?

Big Dog | January 25th, 2010

Kuvasz are considered to be very stubborn and the only way that they will learn and be properly trained is to have an owner who is just as stubborn as they are. One that does not let up until they get the desired result. Although not known for their obedience unlike other breeds, they eventually get to understand and learn what is taught when the owner determines the right motivation.  There are some Kuvasz that respond well to praise while others by food.

Scolding may be both a deterrent as for some are sensitive as well as a driving force for those that enjoy the push. Some may even be so insensitive that not even scolding works both ways. There have also been Kuvaszok that thrive on learning through discipline that even pulling hard on the leash and pressure on the collar isn’t enough to get the message across. Pinch collars that show them who’s in control may do the trick with this type of personality. When having a Kuvasz, it would be wise to determine what is the best way to motivate Kuvasz to learn as soon as possible to prevent any frustration that may come between owner and dog.

Prior to visiting a kennel, do some reading and approach people who actually own a purebred. Gather as much data as one can because the quality of the dog will determine either ease or frustration on the owner’s side. One way to know exactly a purebred is to study the breed standard. All quality dogs must mirror or reflect the written guidelines.
